I kept her in a cage

Cause she was full

So full of rage

She banged on my door

Clanged my walls

As she kept trying to get out

This creature in me

Unsatisfied

Unhappy with life

why can't I be

Like the mundane

Repellent to fight

just...

Satisfied

THE PAINTING

This painting is about being trapped in your own head.

I made this to express depressive and anxious thoughts. Constantly bugging. I used to see them as ‘who I was’, even though I did not place them there. I blamed myself for robbing the ‘happiness’, that others around me seemed to have; peace with the world.

Deep down, I always had the desire to live a fulfilled and peaceful life (Gods intention). But the world made it seem hopeless.

TESTIMONY

When my mom got terribly sick, I cried out to the Lord “how can God be real if all this is happening?!” The pain broke me, but at the same time it made me realize how valuable a life is. And how much I had to be grateful for. Her warmth and joy through tribulations, her outstanding love for her family, made me want to live a life worthwhile. So I promised her to try and find it. However, I still was tortured by voices damaging my freedom, confidence, true identity. Things I never spoke about, so I expressed how I felt in this painting and poem.

I was dedicated to finding life, instead it found me. And it is a He. Jesus has saved my life by giving His for mine.

Even though I questioned His goodness, God ran after me and gave me the answers that are nowhere else to be found. His Holy Spirit started revealing the Truth of existence to me. It was light, hope shining bright. I instantly believed; ‘God is good and all I need!’
God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. - Ephesians 2:8

You are not alone

When I finally got community in my faith, I found out I was not the only one who had ever felt like this. Sometimes it feels like we are the problem, helpless, but I assure you; you are not alone! So many testimonies resonate with mine. Thank God we had another thing in common:

Jesus set us free.

And He wants to do the same for you…

Nobody heard my voice, but

Jesus understood my words.

“Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.” - 2 Cor 3:17

“Free me from the trap that is set for me, for you are my refuge.” - Psalm 31:4

The ropes of Sheol tightened around me; the snares of death trapped me. - 2 Sam 22:6

“And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” - John 8:32

He sent them an assuring word and healed them; he rescued them from the pits where they were trapped. - Psalm 107:20

“It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.” - Gal 5:1

Do you want to be set free?

I gladly testify, so many others too. We can bring hope to you, but only Jesus can save you. And He really wants to, because He loves you.

He wants to help you, heal you. Nurture and protect you. SET YOU FREE

He is knocking on your door… But He will only come in if you invite Him.
Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me. - Rev 3:20

Open your heart and say this prayer to invite the Light into your life! Your Lord and Savior will bless you with abundance and eternal life.

“Jesus, I believe you are the Son of God, that you died on the cross to rescue me from sin and death and to restore me to the Father. I choose now to turn from my sins, every part of my life that does not please you. I choose you. I give myself to you. I receive your forgiveness and ask you to take your rightful place in my life as my Savior and Lord. Come reign in my heart, fill me with your love and your life, and help me to become a person who is truly loving—a person like you. Restore me, Jesus. Live in me. Love through me. Thank you, God. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.”
